Some of your tasks will include:
- Further developing and implementing metadata strategies to improve data quality, integrity and consistency.
- Collaboration closely with stakeholders to understand their metadata needs and provide advice on metadata management.
- Designing and maintaining metadata models, taxonomies, ontologies, and schemas to support effective data management.
- Supporting data integration projects by mapping and documenting metadata requirements.
- Promoting a culture of data and metadata management.
- Conducting metadata audits and assessments to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and enforce metadata standards and best practices.

Jouw achtergrond
You are used to working in a complex organizational environment and know how to deal with the political sensitivities that this entails. Your strong interpersonal skills stand out within your team. This strengthens the team spirit and motivates colleagues across the organization to get even more value out of their data.
You also take with you:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, information management), preferably with advanced certifications.
- More than 7 years of proven experience as a Metadata Specialist or similar position, with a deep understanding of data quality, master data and data governance principles.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Dutch.
- Experience with metadata tools and technologies (Collibra, IBM IGC, Informatica EDC/AXON/IDC, Trillium, Purview, etc.) and knowledge of emerging metadata management trends and technologies.
- Expert-level knowledge of data analysis/profiling, metadata modeling, schema design, and database concepts.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, such as DAMA-DMBOK and ISO 8000.
- An analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and the ability to solve complex data-related problems.
- Experience with developing and delivering metadata training programs is an advantage.
